Natural homemade facial masks .A relaxing face mask is a great way to unwind over the weekend. With simple ingredients from your kitchen, you can make the most delightful of face packs in no time. Given below are a couple of simple recipes based on Ayurvedic principles. Being all natural, they are not only deeply nourishing, but also safe for all skin types. Go ahead and take your pick!

Rose-Strawberry Face Pack

Dry a handful of rose petals and grind them into a fine powder. Crush a couple of strawberries and add that rose petal powder. Apply the mix generously all over your face, avoiding the eye area. Sit back and enjoy the fresh fruit and flower duet.

Honey and Milk Cream Face Mask for Intense Hydration

Milk cream is a rich source of Vitamin E and can revitalize dull and dry skin like a charm. Add to it the intensive nourishing properties of honey, and you have a matchless rehydrating formula. Use milk cream and honey in equal proportions to make enough paste to be used as a face mask. When washing off, use plain water only. Avoid using soap or a face wash for the next 1-2 hours.

Turmeric-Gram Face Pack for an Instant Glow

Add four tablespoons of gram flour to one tablespoon of turmeric powder. Add a little amount of milk or rose-water to obtain a thick paste. If you wish to make the recipe even richer, blend in a pinch of sandalwood powder. Apply this to your face, rubbing gently in circular motions. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes. When you rinse it off, you will discover fresh, healthy, and glowing skin. (NB: Gram Flour is available at health food stores)

Olive-Cocoa Face Mask

Mix cocoa butter and olive oil in the same proportions. Ideally, a spoonful of each should be enough. You can also add a pinch of freshly made ginger paste if you wish. And there you have your home-made face mask ready to pamper your skin!
